The HTC Hero is the latest touch screen offering from HTC. It is designed to be a direct competitor to the Apple iPhone. It has incredible multimedia capabilities and is still quite functional and easy to use. But, is the HTC Hero worth purchasing, or is it just another flash in the pan.

Design
What more can really be said about the design of the various touch screen phones on the market today – they all have huge screens and are quite thin. The HTC Hero is no different. It has a super clear 480 x 360 pixel screen, and it ends up weighing in at just under 140 grams. If you are looking for a compact phone, this is it.

Key Features
The main distinguishing feature of the HTC Hero is the 5 megapixel camera. While is has the same resolution of many other cameras on the market, it seems to take better pictures and videos. Once you have taken pictures and videos, it is incredibly easy to share them with your friends over the social networking capabilities of this phone.

Final Verdict
The HTC Hero is yet another player in the long line of touch screen phones that are powered by Android and are trying to unseat the Apple iPhone as the king of the mobile phone market. While the HTC Hero does have some promising features and does do some pretty cool things, it still has a ways to go if it wants to dominate the market like the iPhone has done.

The Motorola Milestone is Motorola’s answer to the Apple iPhone. It looks very similar, has a similar touch screen, and does many of the same things. But, how does it measure up?

Design
The main design feature of the Motorola Milestone is the 3.7 inch touch screen – it dominates the front of the phone. Other than that, it looks just like your standard touch screen phone – rectangular, thin, and black. The screen doesn’t produce any glare, and it looks quite resistant to scratches – a major problem with touch screen phones.

Key Features
The Motorola Milestone runs Google’s Android operating system, so it can do some pretty advanced things. But, it also does all the basics quite well, like using social media applications and using the maps feature. Because it has a built in GPS, it can be used just like a normal navigation system. It offers many levels of customization, so you can make your Motorola Milestone look just like you want it to.

Final Verdict
Does the Motorola Milestone measure up to its main competitor, the iPhone? Well, that will be up to you to decide. While it does offer the new Google Android operating system and many of the same features, it completes the same tasks in slightly different ways than the iPhone. Get your hands on one, try it out, and see if it is the phone for you. There is a good chance that once you see it in person, you will fall in love with it.

Not many people think of Palm anymore when it comes to mobile phones, but if you look back a few years, you will see that they were leaders in this field. Now, they are back with the new Palm Treo Pro trying to reclaim some of their past glory. Have they succeeded?

Design
The palm Treo Pro looks unique, and that is a good thing in a world where all phones look the same. It has a unique keyboard, and its shape is different from other offerings. It is still durable and lightweight, and one thing is for sure – when you pull it out, no one will mistake it for another kind of phone.

Key Features
One of the key features of the Palm Treo Pro is the fact that it has both a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. You don’t find many phones nowadays that have both – its usually one or the other. It has a 2.0 megapixel camera, which is smaller than most of the other cameras on the market, but that is not a big deal because this is not totally directed at the multimedia market. It has Bluetooth, WiFi, and everything else you would expect from Palm’s top of the line phone.

Final Verdict
The Palm Treo Pro is a great phone if you are looking for something that runs the Windows Mobile operating system. It has many great features, and looks great, so if you are looking for a business oriented phone, the Palm Treo Pro would be a great choice for you.

The Samsung Elevate is a slide up phone from Samsung. Now, there are many phones that look like this on the market, but none of them do their intended jobs as well as the Samsun Elevate. Add in the fact that it has a full QWERTY keyboard and this phone is a winner for anyone who does a lot of typing on their phone.

Design
One of the first things people notice when the get the Samsung Elevate is how small it actually is. When the keyboard is not slide out, it is one of the smallest phones on the market. It comes in sleek black, but not the piano key style black finish that easily scratches when you put it in your pocket.

Key Features
The main feature of the Samsung Elevate is the way the keyboard comes out. It doesn’t slide out like every other phone on the market – it does it in a unique way. Not only does it have a QWERTY keyboard, it is also a touch screen, so unless you are doing heavy typing, you don’t need to slide out the keyboard.

Final Verdict
The Samsung elevate really is one of the best tools for someone who spends most of their time texting and using social networking applications like Facebook and Twitter. It does all of the other features like calling and web browsing well, but it is more suited to someone who is focused on social networking. Overall. This is a great phone and anyone who purchases it will be happy with its features.
